Dear Southland Sea Kayakers
Our membership continues to grow and we now have 50 members including one in Teeside, UK!
MEETING
We will have our first meeting of the year on Wednesday 17th March at H&J Outdoor World, 27 Tay St., Invercargill at 7.30PM.
At this we would like to plan a trip programme for the year and I am soliciting suggestions for this as well as trip leaders. I thought I would kick it off by organising a weekend trip later this month.
I would like to run a surf landing/launching course at Oreti Beach and I thought we could do this on a week day evening soon before we loose daylight saving. Kevin is going to give a short talk on the theory of this at the meeting.
During the winter we want to concentrate on perfecting Eskimo rolling and we will hire a pool for this course. I have an excellent DVD from the States to show at one of our evenings.
I have a few thoughts on what we could do for our network evenings but again I would like suggestions/volunteers to speak/ show slides.
We will bring along some slides of our recent kayak/climb of Mitre Peak.
Matt will update us on new kayaks and equipment he now has in stock.
Terry continues to work marvels with our web site. He will record articles and photos of club endeavours on it. check it out it's fantastic:

As mentioned last time I would be grateful for a $2.00 meeting fee per person to cover cost of supper.
Look forward to seeing you all there.
Safe kayaking
